What is interoperability in healthcare?

Interoperability is a hospital software’s ability to exchange and use medical data with other systems, without data loss, re-entry or human intervention. In France it is governed by the French Digital Health Agency (ANS) through the CI-SIS framework, and made mandatory by the Ségur digital health programme.

In practice, an interoperable EHR lets a doctor see, in real time, a patient’s history from another department, their test results and current prescriptions, without switching screens.

What interoperability standards does Galeon support ?

Galeon supports XML for clinical act and diagnosis transmission, OpenID for user account provisioning and HL7 FHIR R4 for hospital system interoperability. It is connected to the French national shared medical record (DMP / Mon Espace Santé). These standards cover all requirements of the ANS/CI-SIS framework and the Ségur du Numérique en Santé program.

Does migrating to Galeon require a service interruption ?

No. Through its secure APIs and standard connectors (XML, HL7, OpenID), Galeon integrates alongside existing systems with a progressive switchover. Caregivers continue working normally throughout the entire integration phase.

How does Galeon connect to the national shared medical record (DMP) ?

Galeon automatically feeds the DMP via the ANS/CI-SIS protocol. As soon as a caregiver validates a clinical act or diagnosis in Galeon, the data is transmitted in real time to Mon Espace Santé, no extra action, no duplicate entry.

Is Galeon compliant with France's Ségur du Numérique program ?

Yes. Galeon meets all Ségur du Numérique requirements: HL7 FHIR R4 compatible, DMP connected, ANS/CI-SIS compliant. These prerequisites determine eligibility for Ségur public funding, Galeon fulfills all of them.
